in london

At the Apple Store in Regents Street.
Also, My LC web-review is here. Now for some noodles.

going shooting

No, not the Dick Cheney type. I’m taking the camera into Lincoln to take some shots. Hopefully the light will improve, if not I’ll have to wait until the late afternoon.
BTW. My blog review is up at LC.
Oh, finally, what’s the chance this is a disgruntled veteran?

quicky

Been busy. Decorating. Setting up the BigPC in the spare room (or office, as it pretty much is). Had to re-route an ethernet cable from the router to the XBOX downstairs (via exterior of house). Can someone tell me why the XBOX doesn’t have built-in Wi-Fi? FFS it’s £70 for the Wi-Fi adapter. Rip-off […]

tallinn city centre

I have just spent the day on a photowalk with my Nikon D80 DSLR. I have over 150 shots to upload of Tallinn. I’ll post the link (update: link) later after I’ve uploaded to flickr and done the required editing and rotating (uploading straight from SD rather than clogging my iPhoto software - my ageing […]

we have snow!

As we celebrated New Years at midnight (Estonian time) we were treated to the first sprinkles of snow here in Tallinn. This morning we had a fresh blanket of the white stuff everywhere. Lovely.
Apparently, the snow will be following us home.
BTW. We drank at 00:00 Moscow time, then Tallinn time, and finally GMT. Hic!

update

Sorry I haven’t updated the blog this week. Well, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, it’s Christmas. I have been enjoying spending time with the family and playing with some new videogames (Bioshock, Super Mario Galaxy and Pro Evolution Soccer ‘08) - oh, and pwning some Yanks on Call of Duty 4… on my new 40″ […]

casting the net - bye, bye 2007

It’s my *last* blog review of the year, and it’s up at LC.
The reviews will be back on 9th January.
I’m taking the holidays off. In fact, we fly out to Tallinn on Saturday for New Years (arriving back to Blighty on the 8th). I have tonnes of writing to do while I’m away, but […]

casting the net - better late than never

Today got off to a rubbish start. My internet was down. I was cut off from the world. I was cold and I was naked.
I couldn’t even leisurely play XBOX Live in my enforced free time. Because my internet was down! Annoyed I brought forward a meeting, so at least now I have this afternoon […]

casting the net - clegg, by a nose

Today’s blog review is up over at LC.
Pick of the bunch is this pro-Tesco polemic by Julie Burchill (via.).
I wrote my dissertation (I did a post-grad in the grocery industry, as I worked for a major supplier to the multiples) on the Tesco supply-chain. It is, in a word, awesome.

hello

No action on the blog for a couple of days as I’ve been very busy. It was the penultimate Christmas Shop yesterday. Everything but a handful of DVDs bought, so annual panic over. Work is also absolutely manic.
Yesterday’s Casting the net is here. And today’s here. Enjoy.
More blogging later. BTW this* is effin’ hilarious (Linux […]

casting the net - kicking brown when he’s down

Nice and early. The blog review is up at LC.
Mrs. tyger and the kids are back. Toys are strewn across the floor and I’m constantly running up and down the stairs taking the boy to the loo (ah, the joys of toilet training). Of course the independent-minded little git has no intention of using a […]

casting the net - revisiting iraq

Today’s blog review highlights the latest dispatch from Michael J. Totten, who has revisited the Iraqi city of Fallujah - the site of one of the biggest battles of the latest Iraq War (Operation Phantom Fury was an infamous siege where US forces used chemical weapons – namely White Phosphorous - on suspected insurgents).
The blog […]

Not feeling 100% today. Cough, cold, blocked nose and achy… Manflu, I think they call it.

casting the net - money talks

Today’s blog review, which assesses the blog reaction to the ongoing funding crisis at the Labour Party, is up at Liberal Conspiracy.
BTW. Vince Cable just commented - at PMQs - about Gordon Brown’s remarkable transformation, in just a few weeks, from Stalin to Mr. Bean. Genius. Cable would be a cracking leader for the Lib […]

casting the net - 12.11.07

As I emerge from a shocker of a weekend (don’t ask), I’m hoping this week brings greater productivity, more sleep and a jackpot-winning Euromillions lottery ticket.
My daily blog review is up on Liberal Conspiracy, here.
