Best Record
The Killers - Sawdust
Ok, it’s a B-sides n rarities comp. But The Killers are simply so far ahead of anything else out there right now.
Best Film
The Bourne Ultimatum

tiny

Sorry the blog is slow - been very busy, and looking after the kids today (not to mention trying to complete 3 pieces of copy).
Just been browsing for artist Willard Wigan (for a piece). This guy’s microscopic sculpture has to be seen to be believed.

jack vettriano

I’m a huge fan of the artist Jack Vettriano - his work is often displayed in Nottingham’s Whitewall Gallery. The Guardian has a 10-pic gallery, here. While often the women in Vettriano’s paintings are in state of mild undress, they remain in control, fully aware of their power over the lusting male.

on chav hatred

I have spent today in Nottingham, in one of the city’s coolest haunts - Lee Rosy’s Tea. I picked up the latest copy of Left Lion, a free music/culture paper which targets Nottingham’s large creative and student population.
Being a writer, I guess, I am the target audience for such a publication, and I have always […]

a much better olympic design

A few days ago on the BBC, Tyler Brûlé’s Winkreative Media presented some alternative designs to the car-wreck that is the London 2012 Olympic Logo, this blog thinks this one would be a superb replacement:

You see? It didn’t have to be a complete mess. Methinks it’s time for the London Olympic organisers to admit […]

I have been a huge fan of illustrator Kev Speck for some time. Click on his portfolio to see some spectacular images.

white is the new black

Yesterday I was driving on the M1, and passing me on the outside lane was a white 1-Series BMW. The 1-Series has been a bit of a grower on me. I loved the 7-Series immediately, and thought the aggressive styling of the 5-series was superb (if not quite as classy as its bigger […]

Where’s my Euromillions?

This is just too god-damn sexy (use the ‘media browser’ on the right to scroll through the pics; in white, please).

Anne Atkins and the poisoned olive branch

Bleary eyed, I awoke this morning in my hotel room to the mutterings of the Today programme on Radio Four.
Now regular listeners of the programme will be aware that a short section of the schedule is given over to religious speakers. The section is called Thought for the Day, and pious individuals […]

Tagged | Obsessions

The Talented Mr. Zhisou has tagged me. Apparently I am to divulge my obsessions, presumably on the point of death. I better get to it then, eh?
I guess I pass through phases of obsessive behaviour. When I was sixteen I could pretty much name every football player in Italy’s Serie A – […]

More Bateman

Do you like the Siberian Tiger painting above?
How about this one, also by Robert Bateman.

The end of the world is nigh

I’m so fucking disillusioned with this world.
Pass the gun.

Robert Bateman

One of the unsung hero’s of tygerland.net is Robert Bateman. Robert painted the Siberian Tiger that prowls the header of this blog. Robert’s work is astounding, and readers should check it out.
