casting the net - forget the primaries, it’s the faroe islands that really matter

I’m busy working on a new website, which hopefully will be up and running by the end of the week…

Anyway, my daily blog review for today is here. LC also has a rare Justin sighting, which - as always - mustn’t be missed.

Really busy again. Apologies that the blog has been slow this week. Normal service will resume Monday.

Today’s blog review is up at LC.

casting the net - know thy enemy

I’m back England. We arrived back on Tuesday, but it’s been a busy couple of days so I haven’t had time to update tygerland. I have however resumed the Casting the net blog reviews for LC.

Yesterday’s is here.

And today’s round up is here.

casting the net - bye, bye 2007

It’s my *last* blog review of the year, and it’s up at LC.

The reviews will be back on 9th January.

I’m taking the holidays off. In fact, we fly out to Tallinn on Saturday for New Years (arriving back to Blighty on the 8th). I have tonnes of writing to do while I’m away, but the odd post will make its way to the blog, I’m sure.

casting the net - better late than never

Today got off to a rubbish start. My internet was down. I was cut off from the world. I was cold and I was naked.

I couldn’t even leisurely play XBOX Live in my enforced free time. Because my internet was down! Annoyed I brought forward a meeting, so at least now I have this afternoon free.

Anyway, eventually, I got my blog review finished. So why not have a trundle over to LC? Let’s hope I can get everyone’s name right today…

BTW. Monday (Christmas Eve) will be my last Blog Review until the 9th January. I’m spending New Years with Olja’s family in Tallinn. So, finally, a break for little ol’ me.

casting the net - clegg, by a nose

Today’s blog review is up over at LC.

Pick of the bunch is this pro-Tesco polemic by Julie Burchill (via.).

I wrote my dissertation (I did a post-grad in the grocery industry, as I worked for a major supplier to the multiples) on the Tesco supply-chain. It is, in a word, awesome.

hello

No action on the blog for a couple of days as I’ve been very busy. It was the penultimate Christmas Shop yesterday. Everything but a handful of DVDs bought, so annual panic over. Work is also absolutely manic.

Yesterday’s Casting the net is here. And today’s here. Enjoy.

More blogging later. BTW this* is effin’ hilarious (Linux and Mac users will LOL).

casting the net - kicking brown when he’s down

Nice and early. The blog review is up at LC.

Mrs. tyger and the kids are back. Toys are strewn across the floor and I’m constantly running up and down the stairs taking the boy to the loo (ah, the joys of toilet training). Of course the independent-minded little git has no intention of using a potty, rather like the way he flat refuses to use a beaker. Grrr.

gone but not forgotten

As part of my new year clean-out I have gone through the blogroll and culled blogs which have been either closed or were on Deathwatch. I’m sad to report that some of my favourite blogs have ceased to be in 2007.

Blogging was always something of a fad for many, and no-doubt the rise of social-networking (i.e. facebook) has been contributory to blogging’s relative demise. Of course some of
these bloggers have been the victim of circumstance. New careers, starting a new family, or other more interesting projects have taken priority over their blogs. So I thank all these bloggers for their words and I wish them all the best in 2008.

casting the net - revisiting iraq

Today’s blog review highlights the latest dispatch from Michael J. Totten, who has revisited the Iraqi city of Fallujah - the site of one of the biggest battles of the latest Iraq War (Operation Phantom Fury was an infamous siege where US forces used chemical weapons – namely White Phosphorous - on suspected insurgents).

The blog review can be found at LC.

There will be no blog review tomorrow - or, probably, any activity on tygerland.net - as I’m going to the airport to collect the family. I’ve been on my own for 5-and-a-half-weeks, so I can’t wait to have some life in the house again. Everything is ready: the floors are scrubbed, the washing is done, the bathroom is clean, and I’ve even cleaned and disinfected the fridge. We’re talking serious brownie points here, people.

casting the net - the crumbling fco and liberal sanctimony
