    Actually, I think the world would be a finer place if we put more cynical, facetious and cantankerous folk in charge of our media outlets.

    Charlie Brooker could be the BBCs news controller and perhaps David Mitchell could head up Newsnight. Not that Pax-Man isn’t cynical and cantankerous, he’s just too angry for me – that anger has to be channelled and suppressed into comedy for me to find it really engaging.
