a much better olympic design

A few days ago on the BBC, Tyler Brûlé’s Winkreative Media presented some alternative designs to the car-wreck that is the London 2012 Olympic Logo, this blog thinks this one would be a superb replacement:

You see? It didn’t have to be a complete mess. Methinks it’s time for the London Olympic organisers to admit they screwed up and give Brûlé a call.

Quite right, much more sensible a design.

sadly though initially interesting looking, this design has the power to induce a thumping headache.

just stare at it. and see.

So £400k wasted on the other design doesn’t give you a headache?

According to DesignWeek, Wolff Olins (the design house responsible for the chosen debacle) is telling his team not to be despondent!

Also, traffic, how long exactly have you been looking at the design?

I think a circular rainbow design like this would be perfect - with an image of London in the middle.

If this kind of thing becomes a replacement logo, I will be expecting a £100,000 one-off payment for the original idea - cheap at the price, don’t you think ?
