Still, they have plenty of time to go back to the drawing board…

Spotted that this morning. I completely agree. £400 grand for that? They should have come to me, could have done a lot better for 50 quid.

    £400k?

I wasn’t aware of that. Been out all day. Makes our graphic designer look value for money. I never thought I’d say that. Jesus, almost half-a-million!!!

Do you know what? I’m astonished by this. What can you say, eh?

It’s terrible. I’m lost for words.

Well, according the BBC this morning, that’s what it cost. I’m not sure if it’s my suspicious nature but I’m sure it reminds me of something I’ve seen before. Might go digging tonight.

There’s a link in that last comment. Sorry, should have stuck bold tags in.

Not your fault, mate. I have to sort out the style sheet for comments.

Very symbolic - for all the wrong reasons.

it is about being edgy. London is viewed as tremendous place re design fashion and all that. [graduate Fashion Week this week ]. Think the logo comes in 4-5 colours….and that it will evolve i.e the logo colours will change with time.

perhaps we will have it in conservative blue by the time 2012 comes. Looks like a 5 year programme for culture change/conslodating the new brand abroad.

good to have the shock of the new/shocking pink to begin with - gets us all talking….and gradually calm down as the logo appears in calmer colours.

I know where Richard is coming from. It does have a certain menace about it.

I think London is getting increasingly bizarre. The city is making oodles of cash so no one thinks they can put a foot wrong. Well forget the logo, I’ll be very surprised if the stadias are up-to-scratch and on time.

Call me negative if you like, but I like to think my cynicism is based on previous form.

Yes, Tyger, “it does have a certain menace about it” - like a splintered Swastika…

ps - I do agree that their is a muscular element within London’s aspirations as portrayed by the logo. and that ofcourse is a bit controversial.

Shit sums up teh logo perfectly. It is absolutely ghastly but it doesn’t match the proposed logo for the Instituto de Estudos Orientais at the University of Santa Catalina in Brazil. Now that is possibly the worst concieved logo of all time - unless it’s a hoax of course…
