I have been using Firefox (and Thunderbird) on my XP PC for an age, but finally I have ditched Safari & Camino and gone Firefox on my Macs too. The biggest factor has been finding a theme I am happy with. The standard Firefox theme is not for me, so I now have something very OSX - all silver with a Facebook toolbar.
I’ll have a look at the other ad-ons and see if anything seems worthwhile (the Facebook bar is being given a 7-day probation period.

When you try out Linux, I’d advice checking out SwiftFox. It’s an optimised build of Firefox that only runs on Linux. I’ve got mine to render pages 75% faster than standard Firefox.
75% Faster?
Cool. I’ll go check out Swifty.
Oooooh AMD compatible… http://getswiftfox.com/
There are different differentials in speed. Some people have reported up to 100% faster rendering times for SwiftFox. Mine’s an Intel chipset but it was originally designed to optimise for the AMD 64Bit architecture. Another one of the wonders of Linux.
I know, I know. Mrs. tyger is buttered up now.
If look customisation is a big thing for you then when you try out Ubuntu you might want to take a look at href=”http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/gnoMac+Theme+Pack?content=19714″> this. As you’re such a Mac kind of guy.
