Pirates Ahoy!

Film critic Mark Kermode’s hatred for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is legendary, indeed his hate-filled review of POTC3 was scathing, but not everyone hated it.

The kids loved the first two films, so a trip to cinema is pretty unavoidable.

Yes, looks like we’re off to see it too on Tuesday. Not going on a bank holiday Monday, couldn’t face the packed cinemas, hopefully quieter on Tuesday.
Leaving the little one with the parents for the day, just me and the Missus off to the cinema, bliss.

We watched the first one yesterday, and the second one (which I agree with Kermode about) the other day. POTC2 is also scheduled for a repeat matinee performance today, too. A trip to see three is imminent, I guess.

Nicky, Mrs. tyger’s older son, loves them. tyger jnr is too wee, especially for 3hrs in the cinema (jeez, can you imagine?), he’s more of a Tweenies kind of guy.

Yes, I couldn’t imagine Mika doing a three hour stint in the cinema either. Mind you, he’s happy to sit through an entire Grand Prix, sadly that and adverts are his only televisual viewing habits. While everyone else’s toddlers seem to be fixated with that Midnight Garden thing and other assortments of children’s TV, Little Penguin doesn’t seem to bother. He’s more interested in wandering around exploring things pressing any available button and building stuff. Strange boy.

Your children sound adorable; tyger jnr and little penguin. I can’t laugh really because I refer to mine as possums. They grow up too quickly!

My kids went to Pirates 3 on Sunday with their dad. I hated Pirates 2 and decided to use the time in at work instead of sitting through another random epic (I’m under heaps of pressure with a trip to Europe coming up at the end of June).

    Why thank you Bindi.

I loathe Pirates 2, and I’m not sure 3 will save the franchise.

lets hope it dies a timely death. They should have quit while they were ahead with the original, in my opinion.
