The media are sniffing around Miliband’s family, hacks believe they may again adopt a child from the US. As the original adoption was surrounded by controversy (it was suggested the family received special treatment from the Dept. of Education, where Mr. Miliband was then a minister), digging up this old news is bound to upset those who are desperate to encourage Miliband to stand.
But who exactly has thrown this bone to the media?
Is it the Brownites, who are no doubt keen to see any thoughts of a leadership run killed off in Miliband’s mind? Strange that this story breaks the day after Brown appeared in a significant interview in The Guardian.
Or is it the Tories? Are the Tories more fearful of the ideological vigour of Miliband against the vacuousness of Cameron, and would rather they face the dour Scot?
Either way, it seems the Miliband option scares the hell out of someone.
Also… Portillo: Believe me, Mr Miliband, No 10 is within your grasp
It’s encouraging either way - if the Tories are scared, good, if Brown is scared, maybe that’s because the Miliband candidacy I would like to see is just around the corner.
I’ve set up a blog to support and report on the potential Miliband candidacy

a disunited labour party would suit the opposition - ofcourse.
A leadership contest can be good for unity - just look at the Tory one
The only way a leadership campaign could hurt the party is if the leaders allow it to. In this respect, Glass House is right, the Tories used the election to revitalise. Vitality is just what Labour needs.
It amazes me… that people think that democracy is too good for the Labour Party. The only people who fear democracy, are those who know they will lose.
