Am I a Stalinist? Oh. Strange, maybe that's why I haven't taken to Gordon Brown. Maybe I'll have him taken out with an Ice Axe? Can't be having another pretender to the throne, can we?

Wow, you're one spiteful Gooner! hahaha

He has always struck me as an odd choice. I mean, what the fuck is the deal with the Amstrad em@iler? That hidious grey phone that you can pick up for a tenner at Currys? (suggested retail price? Around £79)

The CPC464 wasn't a bad machine for the time. Better than the Sinclair Spectrum IMHO. But the Commodore 64 (not to mention the awesome and groundbreaking Amiga) was a better computer.

I wasn't aware he was a property guru, but as you suggest, it's not a full-time job, is it?

How Sugar has become some sort of business guru, I don't know. Amstrad produced crap for most of the eighties, and only survives now by making digi-boxes or something. His real money is from property, which does not require anywhere near the same levels of business acumen - simply invest and watch your money grow.

I have to say that I'd love to take part in some of the challenges on the programme, but I would never, ever want to work for that bullying barrow-boy. The fact that I'm an Arsenal supporter has nothing to do with it (!)

"hollow, vacuous and unfulfilling"

capitalism is a means of generating wealth. dont expect it to make you happy too. there Are some things where the onus is on the individual, i feel.

It certainly doesn't seem to provoke the best traits humankind has to offer. And that's just me when I clap eyes on Sugar.

But it makes for good TV...

It remains 'watchable' if only for the anthropological lessons.

This 'you're fired and you're hired' competitive pathology might be appropriate in very narrow fields within business, but it can be lethal if applied universally.

Can you imagine what havoc would be created if this pathology was applied to, say, a University Research Laboratory - where 'results' are dependent on professional co-operation between colleagues !

The Apprentice was watchable for me, until recently. Now I find it immature and childish.
