Despite, that is, being grumpy as I realise it is David Gower sitting on the terrace of a private villa overlooking the beach in the Windies for the next 48 days and not me. Isn’t it enough for him that he has 8,000 test runs as opposed to my none?

Hello Tyger. Political Umpire alerted me to this kind gesture of yours. I’m very glad that he did so. A couple of people have done this now and I can only really repeat to you what I said to them - thank you, this makes me feel happy.
Doubly so, in fact, to be added at the same time as Grumpire up there. I am a long-standing admirer of both him and his blog (don’t tell him that, please) and feel delighted to enter your home in his presence.

Yes Tyger P-Eng and myself have long had a blog mutual admiration society. We have to be careful to keep arguing so people don’t think we’re too close (in an internet sense; he doesn’t even live in the same country as me and I don’t look like his girlfriend in the slightest - lovely girl called Charlotte, who he had the good sense to publish photos of)
