It’s The Sound Of Silence at chez tyger, and that’s not because the kids are asleep - no, far from it, they’re running riot in their room. We’re actually listening to The Graduate Soundtrack. Mrs. tyger wanted some ‘nice music.’ Maybe she wanted to give the chaos some context?
We’re going to take the boys to one of those play-centres. Jolly jungles. You know the sort of thing. Bleary-eyed parents sat around drinking cheap coffee, as their kids act like mentalists; jumping into ball-pools, climbing up nets, and creeping around in vinyl-covered sponge tunnels.
It’s a hellish place to spend a Sunday morning, but it beats watching your own home being torn down as the tornado of boy’s-play rips its way through.
Naturally the coffee is rancid and the chairs are uncomfortable. For some bizarre reason there is a flat screen TV above where we sit. Obviously the angle is that sharp, one would need surgery if one had one’s head cranked back long enough to watch five minutes of it. So seriously, why bother?
I’ll be sat there for an hour or so, shuffling in my seat trying to find a comfortable position to read my Observer, periodically getting up to rescue the youngest, who will no-doubt get himself trapped between sponge walls or be drowning in the ball-pool. And I’ll curse myself. Why you ask? Because, naturally, going to Jolly Jungles Play Centre was my idea.

Hi Tyger
I’m the Dan from Ms M’s blog who was dancing to Pulp last night. Jarv’s new album is amazing, happy to share but don’t know how that would work - MSN perhaps.
You can hear three tracks from the album at

Cheers, Dan
Traffic,
It never happened in the end. Still an eventful afternoon though.
Hi Dan - welcome to the blog. Thanks for the Jarv reccy. It’s cool, I’m ordering on Amazon anyway - just needed someone to say it was good.
I adored Pulp (for a couple of albums), and generally like the Jarvster anyway, so it’ll be a pleasure to send him a few quid via the old method of purchasing his record.
Cheers though - much appreciated.
Please, as Apu Nahasapeemapetilon would say, “Come again.”

Wasn’t that the virgin Mary?
Hi Tyger - good to see you back! I can understand how The Graduate would make you want to blog again.
You’re very clever Ms Melancholy.
It’s all very Jane Austin.
