Modern Times by Bob Dylan.
It’s his best album since 1975’s Blood on the Tracks. Now I know I’m a Dylan saddo, but seriously, it’s brilliant and track two, Spirit on the Water, is - and I may well be assassinated for saying this - his best track full stop.* Nettie Moore is excellent too.
I’ve got it on the Hi-Fi right now. Dylan + Czech export beer = Heaven.
*Ok, it’s not as political or as lyrical as some of his circa 1964-6 stuff, but musically, it’s a masterpiece. Now please, put the gun down…

Everybody must get stoned.
Na zdravÃ, dude.
You rollin’?
Wine and Tim Buckley now. Oh Yeah!
Having a music day. Finally feeling a bit better.
Urquells or Primator or Budvar are bliss.. I am going to be a heretic here and say that while Mr Z was a magnificent songwriter I just cant take to his voice.. Ironically I love Robyn Hitchcock
Hia Jams - welcome
Budvar this time. The wine is a lovely Chilean Shiraz (on offer at the Co-Op - lol)
Yeah. Mr. Z (eh eh!) voice grates at first, but like the finest single malt, it’s an acquired taste. Actually on Modern Times his voice is better than Time out of Mind from almost ten yrs ago.
Ps. Absolutely pissed myself at the ‘wibble’ post. Greatly underused turn of phrase.
Pps. Re. the Dylan heresy: if a red dot appears on your forehead. Duck.
mmmmmm Shiraaaz (drools).. I will have to take a trip to the nearest one and make a purchase. Definitely my favourite varietal.
Robyn H did a double album of Dylan covers, including a recreation of his Albert Hall concert in 1966 (I think). Not bad listening
as for Wibble, I content myself with sticking two pencils up my nose and my underpants on my head a la Blackadder!
Ha!
Simpsons and Backadder Goes Forth references in the same post. Good work dude. You’re on fire.
That or I watch far too much tv!
