Tories target London’s skyline

Slippery Dave’s remodelling of the Conservatives seemingly knows no limits. Policy Exchange, Cameron’s favourite cuddly Tory think-tank, are proposing the naming and shaming of Britain’s architectural ‘eyesores.’
Of course such an endeavour would be highly subjective, not to mention politically vacuous, and the tearing down of landmarks, no matter how ugly some consider them, is likely to be met with outrage from people who consider them to have historical value, or simply part of an areas character.
In a move that’s likely to piss off BabyWashington over at Fisking Central, one of the buildings targeted in The Battersea PowerStation on the Thames. James O’Shaughnessy, the policy wonk behind the proposal, ought to watch his back…

guess sometimes one can go (just) too far.
Unbeleivable. Even after being left to rot for decades that building is still a powerful and noble building - not to mention an icon for Pink Floyd and Dr Who fans.
You only have to go a few miles down the Thames to Bankside to see how an abandoned power station can be transformed into a useful and fascinating building.
